Welcome to Dave’s Landing, a cabin that’s as much about peace and quiet as it is about history. Originally my dad’s bait shop back in the ‘70s, this place has been reimagined while keeping the essence of what he loved—the sound of the river, the woods outside the bedroom window, and a spot to just unwind. Now it’s my dream cabin, and I’m happy to share it with you.
The cabin itself has been completely redone—3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and décor that gives the place a fresh yet comfortable vibe. You’ll have everything you need, whether you’re here to relax or get out on the water. In the winter, snowmobilers will love that you’re right on the famous Bo-Boen trails, just 100 feet from the door. Plenty of room to park your trucks and trailers, too, and St. Germain is only 4 miles away for a quick supply run or a good meal.
Speaking of St. Germain, it’s worth the short trip for biking on the Heart of Vilas County Trail System, and don’t miss the Monday Flea Market with hundreds of vendors from spring through September. There’s no shortage of good food either—head to The Bear’s Den or The Timbers Bar & Grill for something tasty after a long day out.
Dave’s Landing sits between Pickerel and Dog Lakes, tucked along a river just below the dam and waterfall. You can kayak straight from your dock down to the Wisconsin River for some pretty impressive scenery, or take advantage of the access to hundreds of nearby lakes if fishing or boating is more your speed. And when the day winds down, the fire pit out back is perfect for campfires and cookouts.
Want to avoid middleman fees? Send an inquiry and book directly with us to lock in your stay at Dave’s Landing. Whether you’re here for the river, the woods, or just some time away, we’ll make sure you get exactly what you came for.
If your group of six is heading to Dave’s Landing in Lake Tomahawk, there’s no shortage of things to keep you busy. First off, if anyone’s into hiking or biking, you’ll want to check out the Raven Nature Trail nearby. It’s got loops of different lengths, and the scenery’s a great mix of woods and water. For something more laid-back, try the Bearskin State Trail—22 miles of crushed gravel that winds through the forest and alongside lakes, making it a solid pick for both walkers and bikers.
When it’s time to eat, the Minocqua Brewing Company is a short drive away and offers solid pub fare along with a local craft beer lineup. If you’re craving a good steak or fish fry, head to Shamrock Pub & Eatery—it’s a local spot that’s been around for ages. For a more casual vibe, you’ve got The Thirsty Whale in Minocqua, right on the water. Grab a bite, sit outside, and watch the boats go by.
If your group’s up for something different, the Lumberjack Shows in Woodruff are a fun way to spend an evening—think axe throwing, log rolling, and some good-natured competition. And for a classic summer experience, catch the Min-Aqua Bats Water Ski Show on Lake Minocqua. It’s a local tradition and definitely worth seeing if you’re in the area on show night.
For those wanting a little history, the World Snowmobile Headquarters museum in Eagle River is close enough for a quick visit and gives you a look at the area’s deep snowmobiling roots.
