Moonbeam is an amazing property, consisting of 900 ft of shoreline on 8 wooded acres located on a peninsula point. New for 2024 is a full home Generac generator. The original cabin is a log home built in the 1940s but it has been well preserved over the years. The logs are all original & in great condition, we stained the outside logs and replaced chinking on the inside. The log part has a beautiful wood burning stone fireplace with wood floors. In 1985, a large addition was constructed that is attached to the log structure. The new addition included a full kitchen, master bedroom, dining room, a full size bath & a huge screen porch on the main level and 2 more bedrooms with full bath on a lower level. Also in 1985, a new foundation was added under the log structure. Since we acquired the property in 2019, we have made huge improvements to the property. The long circular driveway has been upgraded. The drive in is gorgeous with dense, mature oak and maple trees with plenty of parking. The area around the cabin has been totally re-landscaped with large stone block retaining walls, a flat grassy area and a fire pit. The stairs to the water have been replaced with new timbers and flat landing areas. If you wish to not use the stairs, there is an electric tram that can transport you from the cabin to the lake shore. There is a new deck that is 24 X 16 that is attached to the cabin with Weber gas & charcoal grills. The screen porch (18x14) is totally renovated, new lighting/ceiling fan, new flooring & new screening/railing. The screen porch has direct access from the master bedroom and the DR. There is a great boat house at the shore with fish cleaning station & frig. It has a flat roof so we created a viewing deck on top of the boat house with a rail system. On the inside, we have refreshed all the rooms and windows, added central AC, added insulation under the log cabin, added luxury vinyl tile to the DR, master bedroom & kitchen. The kitchen is all new including a gas stove, dishwasher, refrigerator & wine cooler. The full bath on the main level has a new tile floor and new vanity/sink. Lighting has been upgraded throughout the cabin. On the lower level, we have added entry tile, a new full size washer/dryer & a concrete patio below the screen porch. All the rooms have been refurbished, including a new king bed in master, new queen bed in lower BR and matching log twin beds in the other open BR with high end linens. The cabin exterior is original log & 1 inch thick redwood on the addition. The cabin is incredibly private as it sits in the middle of untouched land along 900 ft of lake shore. The lake shore is shallow at the shore gradually deepening with a hard sand bottom so its great for swimming. We have added a new 48 ft dock, boat lift, complimentary kayaks & a pontoon boat for rental. It is a beautiful cabin with the charm of yesterday but with all the newer comfort amenities including internet & smart TV in FR.
Moonbeam is a one of a kind property. The log cabin is preserved and provides you a little sense of history of the property. The cabin has been updated across the board. The setting of 8 acres filled with mature trees on 900 ft of frontage is amazing. The lake itself is a private 325 acre lake with great fishing, clear waters and very little home development along the shoreline. The lake will feel much larger than 325 acres as there are many private bays, a few islands and much undeveloped forest land along the shore. The name Sissabagama is a native name for "Lake of many Bays". The bays are great to get out the wind, find that totally secluded spot on the lake and it makes kayaking such a pleasant discovery type of experience. It is also a Class A Musky lake if you wish to fish for the big one. Our shoreline is flat along the shore so you can easily access the lake, launch kayaks, swim safely or take a walk along the lake. The boat house is available for our guests for storage with a frig inside and a fish cleaning station attached to the boat house. The new viewing deck on top will be a favorite place to relax and listen to the loons. Access to the lake is easy via the tram that will take you from the cabin to the lake. From the cabin, you cannot see another home on the lake. It is that private! As private as it is, you are just 15 minutes away from the charming town of Stone Lake, which has numerous shops and restaurants. There is a great restaurant even closer on Big Sissabagama Lake called Pine Ridge, famous for its legendary fish fry. You may ATV from the cabin to nearby ATV trails. We provide 2 complimentary 12 ft Wilderness Systems kayaks, new boat dock, boat lift and a pontoon boat for rental. The pontoon boat is a 23 ft Premier pontoon, with a 70 HP Yamaha 4 stroke motor, bimini top, rear fishing chairs, stereo, depth/fish finder and live well. New in 2024 is a 24KW back up Generac generator that will power the entire cabin!
Check out the rich history of the lake on the following website: https://www.littlesissabagama.org/ The cabin overlooks Big Island which use to be owned by the Stout family. Under their ownership, the island was called Moonbeam which was our inspiration for the cabin name. The island now is owned by the Little Siss Lake Association and is uninhabited but guests are allowed to explore. Keep in mind, Little Sissabagama is a 325 acre private lake. It is a great fishery as it is under-fished as it is a private lake and the lakeshore is under-developed with 1,000's of feet of pristine shoreline. It is also a Class A Musky lake. There is no public boat launch but we have made arrangements for you to launch your boat at a private launch. New for 2025 is a walking path in the woods along the lake for you to explore. Hayward is located just 30 minutes to the north, the town of Stone Lake is 10 minutes away with a few restaurants, a craft brew/coffee shop and other shops. Spooner is located 20 minutes to your west with a full size grocery store and many great shops and restaurants. . Summit Lake game farm is located to the south.
