Buckhorn Lodge in Couderay, WI, is a 4,800-square-foot luxury log cabin with a private dock on Chief Lake. This beautifully crafted cedar wood chalet features a furnished wraparound deck ideal for entertaining out-of-doors, with a gas grill, table and chairs, and lounge chairs.
There is a large lawn for you and your family to enjoy a fire pit down by the water for evening campfires under the stars. The property is level all the way to the lakefront and private boat dock. The dock is long with plenty of space for docking your watercraft. The shoreline is grass with a sandy lake bottom — great for swimming or fishing.
Inside, both the upper and lower levels of Buckhorn Lodge has a full kitchen and living quarters. Locally hand-crafted log furniture surrounds fireplaces on both levels — wood-burning upstairs and gas powered downstairs. There is a mounted flat-screen TV in both living rooms.
The cabin’s eight guest rooms are spread out over all three levels.

Buckhorn Lodge offers onsite Benington pontoon rental for an additional fee! If you’re interested, please let us know ahead of time so we can have it ready at the dock for you when you arrive.
This cabin is also pet-friendly! We welcome up to two well behaved dogs upon approval and an additional fee pet.
We also have a new pool table and dart board in the lower level.
NOTE: for “rainy days,” both levels of this home are equipped with Wi-Fi and Roku TVs.
With its private dock on Chief Lake, Buckhorn Lodge has direct access to the entire Chippewa Flowage. That means limitless swimming, boating, fishing and more! The water is clear, and the wilderness along the edges is home to eagles, loons, bears, and hundreds of other woodland creatures — so keep an eye out and a camera handy. Common catches on the Flowage include musky, walleye, crappie, panfish and smallmouth bass. There are also two restaurants (with a bar) along the water that are accessible by boat.
This cabin is also just 15 minutes from downtown Hayward, where you can easily stock up on groceries and supplies, browse the local shops, choose from an array of unique dining options, or even spend a day at the casino, the national fishing museum, or a mini golf or go-kart course.

Buckhorn Lodge
Seasons -From Mid June through July and August we only accept bookings for full weeks (7 Nights) from Saturday to Saturday.
Birkie Weekend requires a 4-night minimum
September and May & the first two weeks in June require a 3-night minimum stay as do Christmas and New Year Holidays
The minimum age of the primary renter is 25 years.
Fireworks are not permitted on the property at any time.
Cancellations made 30 days prior to the arrival date will receive a full refund.
We had such a great time and amazing experience with the rental. It was clean and there were so many options for a large group to do. The setting was beautiful and we enjoyed the outdoors even in November.
The property is well appointed and has plenty of room. The basement fireplace did not work for our stay and we let the owner know, so hopefully that will be fixed soon. Other than that everything was great and we felt it was a great value.
Excellent! The home is perfect for larger groups … Plenty of parking. Can't wait to go back!
Beautiful and spacious home. Plenty of bedrooms, and we were able to accommodate 3 families with plenty of room. Fished off the dock and enjoyed the backyard and little swimming area.
Great customer service and a fantastic location near Hayward on the chain of lakes. Cabin was well maintained and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend it, we’ve already booked again for next year!
We enjoyed our family of 19 get-together. Had plenty of room with the 8 bedrooms. Great fishing, and kids enjoyed the shallow water along the dock. Plenty of lawn space to play games and have a great campfire. Jon was great to work with!! Overall we had a wonderful time!
