Things To Do
Known as the Walleye Capital of Wisconsin, Long Lake is a hotspot for fishing enthusiasts. But there’s so much more to explore—take the boat out for tubing or waterskiing, or simply cruise the 3,000 acres of sparkling water. For those who prefer land-based fun, hiking trails and golf courses are just a short drive away.
Tuscobia State Trail: This trail runs for miles and is perfect for hiking, biking, or ATV riding in warmer months and snowmobiling in the winter.
Bluegill Lake Nature Trail: A peaceful, lesser-known spot for hiking with scenic views and wildlife sightings.
Birchwood Firehouse Museum: Dive into the history of Birchwood at this small but fascinating museum that highlights the area's logging past and local firefighting traditions.
Loony Days Festival: If your visit coincides with August, you can enjoy this quirky annual event featuring live music, food vendors, and a parade celebrating Birchwood’s love for all things “loon.”
Nearby Events: Check out the Birchwood Winter Fest for ice skating, chili cook-offs, and snowshoeing challenges.

Hi, I’m Jaci Salewske, and I’m thrilled to help you discover the beauty of Northwest Wisconsin. My husband, our lovable Great Pyrenees, and I call Rice Lake home, but my heart has deep roots in the Eau Claire area where I grew up. Living and working here allows me to do what I love most: connecting guests with unforgettable vacation experiences in this stunning corner of the state—no matter the season.
As the local manager for Local Lodging, I oversee several vacation rentals, including the Lincolnwood Resort. Our mission is simple: to support vacation property owners in creating successful rental experiences while ensuring guests have access to the best stays Wisconsin has to offer. I treat each property as if it were my own, because I know how important it is to owners and guests alike to have a trusted partner managing every detail.
