Perched on the edge of the lake, Cabin Six at Kingfisher Resorts offers a cozy getaway for visitors looking for a place to stay after a day out on the water. Here, they can rent a pontoon boat, fishing boat, or use one of the kayaks, rowboats, or paddle boat that are on hand. Spend your mornings and afternoons fishing on the lake, and your evenings roasting marshmallows over a fire, with access to the free firewood in the resort for as long as it lasts.
Inside, the cabin has big, bright windows and wood-paneled walls. There is a living area with a DirecTV, along with free WiFi. Visitors have access to a fully equipped kitchen where they can do anything from heating up a meal from the night before to preparing a large dinner with fish caught earlier that afternoon. The kitchen has a microwave, oven, stove, cooking utensils, eating utensils, and everything else you might need to make it feel like home; if there is something it doesn’t have, you are welcome to ask your hosts and see if they can accommodate.
The vacation home sleeps a total of three people. It has one bedroom with a full bed, along with a futon in the living room that opens up. There is also a bathroom inside the cabin.
One unique feature of staying at this cabin is that, through the office in the resort, visitors have access to an old arcade machine with over 60 games to choose from. Bring a few quarters for each round that you want to play and enjoy an old form of entertainment that is bound to be a hit with our younger visitors.
Visitors to the Chetek area may choose to remain on the resort property with all of the options for fishing and boating on the lake. However, we would advise you not to miss out on some of the wonderful things that the surrounding area has to offer. From museums to a bowling alley, to multiple golf courses, it is unlikely that you will be in want of adventures. You can get something to eat at one of our many restaurants, such as Lehman’s Supper Club or Pokegama Lakeside Bar and Grill. If you want to get drinks after, we recommend Valkyrie Brewery.
Visitors interested in picking up a nice souvenir to remember their trip by - or to just go window shopping for a few hours - will not be disappointed. Located in Downtown Chetek, Annz Books And More is a great place to head with the reading enthusiast in your family. Grab a coffee in Hope & Anchor Coffeehouse before picking up some crafting or fabric supplies at Elly’s Sheared Sheep or one of the many other shops.
For those who plan on staying in the area a little longer, there are also many community functions with which to get involved. Chetek has multiple denominations of churches, as well as a library. And, the Pioneer Village Museum offers summer day camps for the kids.

This small, family-owned resort is the perfect place to stay overnight if you want to get out on the water and enjoy a great fishing or boating experience. With seven cabins, seven RV sites, boat docks, boat rentals, and more, we have all you need if you are interested in fishing, boating, swimming, or, of course, just spending time in the sun. Visitors to cabin 4 also have the opportunity to stay during the winter months and spend time ice fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, or more!
The Kingfisher Resort name has been around for 75 years as of 2022, and this particular set of cabins was purchased in 2020. We know what it means to run a successful business and spend a lot of time out on the water - fishing or boating - ourselves. Visitors who need anything during their stay are welcome to ask.
