Try a local trail such as Bearskin Trail or Germain Hemlocks State Natural Area, and keep your eyes out for local wildlife such as robins and badgers. Bring a pair of binoculars and a field guide, because you never know what you'll find!
Golfing for two is always an option as well. Just a few minutes away from Birch Lake is Pinewood Country Club, where you can get out on the green and grab a drink afterward. After that, head on over to Pine Point Riding Stables to ride on horseback together. Take the scenic route and enjoy each others' company!
Only a scenic drive away is Minocqua, where you can try your hand at zip lining, eat at the local restaurants, and check out some of the local nightlife. Adventurous couples will love to visit Northwoods Zip Line and Adventure Park to get their fill of thrills. Once you've worked up an appetite, head over to Norwood Pines Supper Club, Rustic Pines Pub, or Tula's Cafe for a bite to eat. If you'd like a cold drink, make sure to check out Black Bear Bar or The Vine Wine Beer and Cocktail Lounge.
