CatTail Cabin is one of two vacation homes located on the Edgewood property, a two-acre lot with 185 feet of private shoreline on Little St. Germain. Guests will appreciate the beautiful hardwood floors and pine paneling that give this traditional cabin a nostalgic, Northwoods ambiance. But don’t be fooled — this lakeside vacation home isn’t as rustic as it looks. With a newly refurbished kitchen and bathroom for all of the conveniences of modern life, guests will be as comfortable at CatTail Cabin as they are at home.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, silverware, dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils. The combined kitchen/dining area has a dining table that seats six. A gas fireplace keeps the space warm in cooler temperatures and a room air conditioner keeps it cool in summer.
CatTail Cabin is a delightful, secluded getaway on a large, grassy lot surrounded by towering pines. Located on the south bay of Little St. Germain Lake, it has an excellent swimming area with a shallow, sandy lake bottom. A spacious, screened-in porch that spans the length of the home’s lake-facing side provides a sheltered place to relax and take in the peaceful views of beautiful trees and shimmering water.
Sleeping arrangements: CatTail Cabin offers two private bedrooms on the single floor of this cozy rental cabin. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed, while the other is furnished with two twin-sized beds. A pull-out sofa bed in the main living area provides an additional sleeping option.
The homes share a huge, grassy yard, a grassy shoreline and a sandy-bottomed swimming area. There is also a children’s play area with a swing-set.
Each home has its own private pier, as well as a patio with picnic tables, charcoal grills and fire pits bring the fun outside for evening cookouts. CatTail Cabin’s sister cabin, LilyPad Lodge, is a three-bedroom, wheelchair accessible cottage that can sleep up to 11 people. Together, LilyPad Lodge and CatTail Cabin can accommodate up to 18 overnight guests, making this property the perfect gathering place for reunions, multifamily vacations and special events.
This Northwoods cabin getaway makes its home on the banks of one of the most popular sporting lakes in the state. Covering more than 950 acres, Little St. Germain Lake is a destination point for great swimming, fishing, boating, tubing, waterskiing, paddling and more. Boat and equipment rentals in the area are available by the day or by the week. Visitors can also plan to bring their own watercraft to store at one of several nearby public boating ramps. The waters of Little St. Germain are known to harbor a wide variety of game fish, including musky, bass, pan fish and pike.
CatTail Cabin is located only a few minutes by car from the exciting, downtown strip of St. Germain. In town, visitors will find hundreds of unforgettable attractions and family entertainments, including fine dining, golf courses, horseback riding, go-cart tracks and unique local shops. Vacation Rentals in St. Germain have easy access to hundreds of miles of nature trails — such as the Vilas County Paved Bike Trails, which meander through 45 miles of scenic Villas County protected forests.
