Romance Valley Retreat is a stunning five-bedroom home set in the rolling green hills of rural Wisconsin. This Genoa-area cabin occupies a 90-acre farm, with accommodations for 13 and plenty or room for the whole group to rest, relax and unwind. We have beautiful outdoor amenities on the property — including a large fire pit, a five-person hot tub and a gazebo — as well as plenty of unique backdrops for events or family pictures.
The main level at Romance Valley Retreat houses the shared living areas, such as the fully furnished modern kitchen, the cozy living room with a brick hearth, the spacious dining area, the laundry facilities and two smaller sitting areas for playing cards or just relaxing and enjoying the view. This large vacation rental’s lower level is equipped with the recreation/game room, complete with a wet bar. This home is also pet-friendly!
Sleeping arrangements: Five private bedrooms at Romance Valley Retreat are furnished with one king-sized bed, two queen-sized beds and five twin-sized beds.
Romance Valley Retreat is ideally situated to accommodate multi-family groups, with comfortable accommodations made both indoors and out allowing guests to spread out, unpack, and stay out from under each others’ feet, with multiple sitting rooms and social spaces both upstairs and down. Our guests love the quiet, remote setting with plenty of room to exercise or just to think. We provide clean outdoor dining on the open-air deck, as well as a fire pit and plenty of parking space. Our country views are unique and beautiful in all seasons.
Don't miss the opportunity to hike at Perrot State Park & Grandad's Bluff!
This large-group vacation lodge in Vernon County is ideally located to make use of the Wisconsin countryside, offering guests access to hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, biking and snowmobiling, as well as dozens of excellent fishing spots on the smaller lakes and rivers.
Head into Genoa and stock up at the bait shop, then try out the small creek that runs through the property. The nearby city of Lacrosse is a popular destination for dining or shopping. Head over for a concert or a meal, or plan to spend the day at the farmer’s market or browsing for antiques.
Wisconsin is known for its breweries, and local draft beer can be found at most local establishments. In autumn, the area is especially stunning and some of our visitors like to take to the backroads on a self-guided fall color tour. In winter, there is a downhill skiing venue 30 minutes away at Mt. Lacrosse.

This was the perfect location for our wedding! They were so accommodating and the whole time we were there was perfect! The various buildings and scenery led to gorgeous pictures and views. We highly recommend the Romance Valley Retreat! — Ericka, Sept. 2019
Nice escape from it all. Spacious rooms. Thoughtful amenities. — Joshua, Aug. 2019
Absolutely gorgeous venue! Best part was that there was plenty of things to do while there. There is a fantastic hiking trail, and an open field that is ideal for yard games. — Kirsten, July 2019
I reserved RVR for the second time for a women's retreat in January. It was my second experience staying there. My group was so excited by this beautiful property! The house has the perfect mix of public and private spaces, and mostly the house just gives you an immediate feeling of comfort and coziness. The house was warm even with bitter weather, and we all enjoyed the heated floor in the sunroom. Joel is wonderful to work with, a clear communicator. The house is well-maintained, clean, spacious and comfortable. We will be so happy to come back! — Jenina, Jan. 2018
My family has been coming for what we call our "Thanksmas" gathering for a few years, and each and every one of us looks forward to our next retreat. The house has plenty of space for everyone to either be in the same room or to group off, the grounds are gorgeous and provide plenty to do even in winter, the beds and baths are clean and comfortable. Any time we've had a problem, the owners are incredibly kind and responsive. plenty of extra toiletries, kitchen utensils, and toys to use, as well as extra air mattresses to accommodate more people. Thank you for this home away from home! — Caitlyn, Nov. 2018
